Hello all,

It's been quite a while since I sent anything to the "no notes" email list -- or at least quite a while since anyone who signed up for that list has received anything I've sent.

I've just finished transferring the list to a different mailing program, so hopefully this will go through (I know the last one I sent, using the service I've just dumped, never arrived in most inboxes).

I promised to let those who signed up know about "significant" updates to the "no notes" web site. Here are a couple of cool things, if you haven't been to the site in a while:

1. An interview with Mr. Robert Harwood, who has done even more research into "St. James Infirmary" than I have:

[It's a four-parter, and pretty interesting.]

2. A very cool interaction with a violinist and composer named Michael Galasso, and the relationship between "St. James Infirmary" and one of his compositions:

3. Some thoughts about the Hot 8 (the band whose performance of "St. James Infirmary" one night in 1998 got me started on this whole absurd journey):

Part One: http://lfno.blogspot.com/2006/05/hot-8-part-1.html
Part Two: http://lfno.blogspot.com/2006/05/hot-8-part-2.html

** ALSO:

Here are two interviews regarding the book "Letters From New Orleans":
1. From the blog of Jessica Lee Jernigan
http://jessicaleejernigan.typepad.com/jessica_lee_jernigan/2006/02/a_model_chocola.html

2. From The Savannah Morning News (which requires you to register, unfortunately, but doesn't charge anything at least; there's a picture of my dog with the article, if that provides any inventive.)
